Our Contribution

At Interactive Male, we have a history of supporting our community. Since 1990, we have donated over $1,000,000 in cash and prizes to local and national charities. And with over 30,000 active members, we know our community appreciates our efforts.

Usually we support several organizations over the year, but in 2009 we have chosen just one: Marriage Equality USA. Here’s why:

The GLBT community has been hurt. We really took one on the chin in the last election, with the passing of Prop 8. And now Interactive Male wants to kiss it better.

On November 4, 2008, Proposition 8 was on the California ballot during the general election. Its purpose was to change the state’s constitution to restrict the definition of marriage to opposite sex couples only. Prop 8 passed and went into effect the next day.

Since Prop 8’s inception, marriage equality supporters have joined forces as never before, tirelessly working to secure this basic human right. And as the battle rages on, there is a new weapon in the fight: Kisses. Big Gay Kisses.

Big Gay Kiss™ is a fun contest with a serious message. Yes, we’re giving away $10,000. Yes, we’re giving away free memberships to Interactive Male. But there’s more to this contest than lip service.

For every eligible video entry we receive, Interactive Male will donate $5 to Marriage Equality USA. For every eligible photo entry, it’s $1. And we want your entries! We want you to spend so much of our money entering the contest that we’re turning our pockets inside-out and scrounging in the couch for loose change. Because this really matters.

Not everyone is ready for—or even wants—the commitment of marriage. But one commitment we can all get behind is the commitment to fight for equal rights for everyone, whatever their gender identity or sexual orientation.
