Great Nation Wide Kiss In San Diego Both gay and straight people gathered in Library Square Saturday morning to smooch each other in support of gay rights. The Great Nationwide Kiss-In took place in about 50 U.S. cities Saturday. It was formed in response to recent events in three cities, including Salt Lake City, where gay or lesbian couples have been harassed, detained or arrested for kissing in a public place.
